Celebration at the community's heart

City of Albany Christmas Pageant

Events run annually by the City of Albany include:

  • Australia Day celebrations and family fun day
  • City of Albany and Verve Energy turning on of the Christmas lights
  • Christmas Pageant
  • New Year fireworks
  • US Submariners Memorial Service

Community Events Financial Assistance Program

The City also provides financial and practical help to other events important to the community, such as Anzac Day, the Albany Agricultural Show and the Albany Weekender Classic Motor Event. Community and not-for-profit groups can apply for assistance to run their events under the Community Events Financial Assistance Program.

The community events financial assistance program aims to provide an equitable approach to the provision of financial assistance to not-for-profit community organisations to host events that benefit the organisation and/or Albany community.

This financial assistance benefits the whole community by promoting tourism development and enhancing social and cultural life. There is one funding round annually, closing at the end of May each year.
