Draft Meeting Procedures Local Law |
The City of Albany proposes a Local Law relating to the conduct of meetings. The purpose of this local law is to provide a set of procedures to assist in the conduct of Council and committee meetings.
The intended result of this Local Law is:
a. Improved decision-making by the Council;
b. More efficient and orderly conduct of Council meetings;
c. Greater community participation and understanding of Council business; and
d. A more open and accountable local government.

A copy of the proposed Local Law is available at the City of Albany's administration offices at 102 North Road, Yakamia from 9am to 5pm weekdays, or from the City of Albany website: www.albany.wa.gov.au.

Proposed Keeping and Welfare of Cats Amendment Local Law 2013
The City of Albany proposes to make a local law relating to Keeping and Welfare of Cats.
The purpose of this Amendment Local Law is to make amendments as requested by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation.
The effect of the amendment will ensure consistency with similar local laws.
A copy of the proposed amendment local law may be inspected at or obtained from the City’s offices at 102 North Road Yakamia WA 6330 between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and at any public library within the City of Albany during normal operating hours.
Submissions about the proposed amendment local law may be made to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Albany, PO Box 484, Albany WA 633 by Wednesday 29 May 2013.

Proposed Parking and Parking Facilities Amendment
Local Law 2012
The City of Albany proposes to make a local law relating to Parking and Parking Facilities.
The purpose of this Local Law is to establish the requirements and conditions with which any persons parking or standing a vehicle within the district must comply.
The effect of this Local Law is to provide for the regulation, control and management of parking and standing of vehicles generally and for the regulation, control and management of parking facilities.
A copy of the proposed local law may be inspected at or obtained from the City’s Offices at 102 North Road Yakamia WA 6330 between 9.00am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and at any public library within the City of Albany during normal opening hours.
Submissions about the proposed local law may be made to the Acting Chief Executive Officer, City of Albany, PO Box 484, Albany WA 6331 by Tuesday 16 October 2012.

In accordance with the feedback received from the Joint Standing Committee on delegated legislation, council resolved on 18 May 2010:
THAT Council GIVE A WRITTEN UNDERTAKING to the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation that the City of Albany will:
a) make the typographical amendments;
b) delete clause 2.9;
c) delete Item 10 in Schedule 2;
d) not rely on clause 2.9 or Item 10 in Schedule 2 in the interim; and
e) make the amendments within two years from the date of the Committee letter |
