"Walk a Mile" Shoe Exhibition

Inspired by Priscilla’s Shoe, this week-long exhibition will display famous shoes from the community and beyond to help raise money for the Albany Community Foundation which provides financial support to local residents in need.
Shoes on display will include Priscilla’s Shoe, the giant shoe from Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which was recently painted by the art students at Albany Senior High School, local MLA Peter Watson’s shoes in which he ran the 1968 Olympics in Mexico, local authors Jon Doust, Diane Wolfer, Sarah Drummond and Fiona Palmer, sportspeople Dennis Lillee, Adam Gilchrist, Ian Brayshaw, John Inverarity and Marley Williams, environmental award-winner Rhonda Williams and singer-songwriter Belle Harvey. In addition, Gardening Australia’s Josh Byrne’s work boots and the Selling Houses Australia team’s shoes will be on display, along with many others who have followed their dreams to success.
Entry to show is gold coin donation.
There will also be an Albany Community Foundation Fundraiser a “Shoe Downer” on closing night, Saturday, January 27 from 5.30pm at Carlyles Function Centre.

No eftpos facilities will be available on the night so bring cash for raffles and the silent auction.
