Youth Strategy available for public comment
14 July 2017
The City of Albany’s draft Youth Friendly Albany strategy is now available for public comment.
The strategy is the result of extensive consultation with young people from Albany and surrounding communities and will provide strategic direction for the City in contributing to the development of a more youth friendly community.
Recruitment is currently underway for a Youth Development Officer, proudly supported by RioTinto, who will assist the City of Albany to deliver the strategy’s key priorities.
Senior Community Development Officer Tammy Flett said the extensive consultation and engagement undertaken with youth has provided the City with valuable feedback.
“Young people in Albany want to see more youth focussed events and activities,” Ms Flett said.
“We are hoping that once the strategy is adopted by Council, we can work to make Albany more youth friendly and deliver on the priorities outlined in the document.”
Young people in Albany are encouraged to review and provide feedback on the draft Youth Friendly Albany Strategy which can be found at www.albany.wa.gov.au.
