CITY OF ALBANY NOTICE OF IMPOUNDED STOCK Notice is hereby given that the City of Albany has impounded three (3) sheep, found at Sims Street, Lockyer If not claimed within seven (7) days of this notice the stock will be sold or disposed of in accordance with the provision of the Local Government Act 1995. Tender documents can be obtained from the City of Albany's 102 North Road Office. TOWN PLANNING SCHEME 1A AND 3 LOCAL PLANNING POLICY NON-HABITABLE STRUCTURES POLICY ADOPTED The City of Albany advises that the Non-Habitable Structures Policy has been adopted by the City of Albany and endorsed by the Western Australian Planning Commission. Non-habitable structures include developments not suitable for human habitation such as carports, outbuildings, sea-containers, shade houses and gazeboes. The Policy replaces an Outbuilding and Sea Container Policy and includes the following new principles: • Non-habitable structures may be considered on vacant lots subject to a building permit for a dwelling being issued; and • The size of a non-habitable structure is defined relative to the size of a lot (eg. the larger the lot, the larger the structure considered). CITY OF ALBANY PARKING AND PARKING FACILITIES AMENDMENT LOCAL LAW 2012 The City of Albany Parking and Parking Facilities Amendment Local Law 2012 came into effect on Friday 26 April 2013. The purpose of the Amendment Local Law is to amend the City of Albany Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2008 to make minor administration amendments. The effect is that minor administrative amendments and the deletion of the provision of special event parking. This local law may be downloaded at the City of Albany website or copies obtained from the City's administration office, 102 North Road, Yakamia WA 6330.

Local Government Act 1995 City of Albany Proposed Keeping and Welfare of Cats Amendment Local Law 2013 The City of Albany proposes to make a local law relating to Keeping and Welfare of Cats. The purpose of this Amendment Local Law is to make amendments as requested by the Joint Standing Committee on Delegated Legislation. The effect of the amendment will ensure consistency with similar local laws. A copy of the proposed amendment local law may be inspected at or obtained from the City’s offices at 102 North Road Yakamia WA 6330 between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday and at any public library within the City of Albany during normal operating hours. Submissions about the proposed amendment local law may be made to the Chief Executive Officer, City of Albany, PO Box 484, Albany WA 6330 by Wednesday 29 May 2013.

FUEL REDUCTION NOTICE TO RESIDENTS The City of Albany and members of the volunteer bushfire brigades will carry out a prescribed burn in areas of Jedda Close, Bay Street, Innes Street, Harbour Esplanade, Chipana Drive, the Forts and other cells within volunteer bushfire brigade districts when conditions are suitable for a cool burn. FESA and other emergency services will be kept informed of this action. The City of Albany will monitor and forecast weather conditions to select the best time to undertake the burns. The City of Albany uses prescribed burns to maintain the biodiversity of the wide range of ecosystems in City reserves, to reduce fuel loads so that wildfires are not as destructive or extensive close to built up areas. The proposed prescribed burn will be carried out in a safe and controlled manner during a low risk period. If suitable conditions are not presented this year, the burn will be carried over to next autumn 2014.

BUSH FIRE ACT 1954, SECTION 33 FINAL WARNING To all owners and occupiers of land in the City of Albany. We would like to encourage and alert Albany residents/landowners to take reasonable precautions to reduce fire hazards on your property. Conditions prescribed in the 2012 Fire Management Requirements Notice must be complied with. These conditions take effect from 1 December 2012 and maintained until 30 April 2013, or as otherwise gazetted. Please contact the City of Albany Community Safety Team if you require guidance on how to comply with your responsibilities under the Fire Management Requirements Notice 2012-2013. WEED TRIALS AT CULL PARK The City of Albany and the Department of Agriculture and Food are currently undertaking weed control trials at Cull Park to remove the 'Sagitaria' (a Weed of National Significance WONS) from the lakes. The methods being utilised incorporate a mix of chemical and salt treatment which should have minimal or no impact on the environment. FOOTPATH WORKS - EMU POINT The City of Albany advises that the footpath at Emu Point, between Medcalf Parade and Firth Street will be reconstructed, commencing on Monday 6 May 2013, for a period of 4 weeks. The footpath will be closed betweek Medcalf Parade and Firth Street for the duration of the works. The City of Albany will endevour to keep restrictions to a minimum. ROAD WORKS - HOMESTEAD ROAD The City of Albany advises that Homestead Road, starting from the intersection of Waychinicup Road and extending for 2.5 kilometres, is undergoing soil stabilisation trails. The City advises that the road may be slippery in wet conditions and asks that drivers show caution when approaching this section of the road. DRAINAGE WORKS - NORTH ROAD/SANFORD ROAD The City of Albany advises that drainage works are being undertaken at the intersection of North Road and Sanford Road, commencing 8 April 2013. Works are expected to be completed by early May 2013, weather permitting. Drivers are expected to show caution, observe all roadworks signs and obey the on-site traffic controllers in the work area. The City of Albany will endeavour to keep restrictions to a minimum and would appreciate your co-operation in working with our on-site staff.
