Multidisciplinary meditations on spirit by Tahlia Palmer

18 October - 21 November

Kinjarling Studies is a collection of works made by Tahlia Palmer during her time in Albany, through the seasons of Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru and Djilba 2019. Working with photography, video, sound design, thread and beads, the artist has attempted to intuitively capture and communicate her experience with and within the area’s landscapes as a first-time visitor.

Drawing on her interests in history and environment, as well as learning to connect with the worldview of her Yuwaalaraay/Gamillaraay ancestors, each work in this collection exists as a visual representation of meditations on being a visitor on Menang boodja; watching, learning, paying respects to the palpable spirit and deep history of the land.
