Mama Stitch

Thursday 13th February 2020 to Saturday 7th March 2020

Featuring stories from the community of Albany about their Mums.

Like threads of yarn woven through a needle, stitching us together, our mother’s advice, her stories and memories shape us as we curve, bend and braid to find our place.

Using storytelling, verbatim performance and music Whiskey & Boots invites audiences to listen and reflect on their maternal line.

“I have seen many great artistic works in my career and I have to place Mamma Stitch in that category. Community art should always be a quality driven process. Coupled with excellent talent and performances it is as good as any drama on any major stage.” Kim Jameson - ART ON THE MOVE

“Powerful tender hilarious sweet funny touchingI have not stopped telling people what an awesome experience it was!” Annette Peterson - Mamma Stitch Joondalup Participant.

“I was impressed by the sensitivity, depth and deft handling of personal stories… with relevant musical interludes made the event a pleasure for the audiences” Jeremy Blank – Coordinator/Curator Joondalup Community Arts Association
