Albany Roller Derby is excited to host the final game of 2019 in Albany with Team Indigenous Dreaming travelling to Albany to play on November 16th at The Track. Team Indigenous Dreaming are a borderless mob bound together by colonisation of Ancestral Lands throughout the southern hemisphere. Team Indigenous represent players from across Australia and Aotearoa, Fiji, Mauritius and Singapore.
Team Indigenous Dreaming have never played in Western Australia and Albany is excited to host them in the special event which will also be raising money for Baldja Maar, a local Aboriginal service providing programs for at risk Aboriginal young people.
Roller Derby is a full contact sport played on quad roller skates, the highly skilful and energetic game is played across the world and is one of the fastest-growing women’s sports. Players aim to score points against the opposing team by the jammer passing the hips of the opposing team players.
