The Department of Education and Palmerston are presenting a parent information session this January to support conversations around mental health, suicide, alcohol and drugs.

This session will include:

  • Tips on how to open up conversations about mental health and suicide as well as alcohol and other drug use
  • The warning signs of suicide and how to support someone who is feeling suicidal
  • The impact of alcohol on the developing brain and the recommended guidelines around alcohol use for young people
  • The importance of a whole-of-community approach, including the role of parents and school
  • Where to go for further information and support
