Talk early, Talk often: Parent Information Session
Past Event
The Department of Education and Palmerston are presenting a parent information session this January to support conversations around mental health, suicide, alcohol and drugs.
This session will include:
- Tips on how to open up conversations about mental health and suicide as well as alcohol and other drug use
- The warning signs of suicide and how to support someone who is feeling suicidal
- The impact of alcohol on the developing brain and the recommended guidelines around alcohol use for young people
- The importance of a whole-of-community approach, including the role of parents and school
- Where to go for further information and support
