After Covid hit pause on the events of Youth Week last year, the 2021 festivities are ready and raring to go, as preparations for Albany’s youth to be celebrated across every inch of the city come to life. 

Running across April 9 to April 16, Youth Week is an annual state-wide celebration of the positive contributions young people make to our community.

Following this year’s theme of ‘Our Path’, Albany’s Youth Week events will acknowledge the importance of our youth coming together to create a community which will inform the future of youth engagement in Albany.

Carla Geneve returns to her home town with an all-ages show at the iconic Town Hall, supported local band The Morsels.

This is an alcohol-free event.

This is a Youth event with limited capacity due to COVID restrictions registration is essential and you must be aged between 10 and 25 to attend.

‘Weathering With You’ is the highly-anticipated new film from director Makoto Shinkai and producer Genki Kawamura, the creative team behind the critically-acclaimed, global smash hit ‘Your Name’.
The breathtaking new film combines Shinkai’s unparalleled visually beautiful and detailed animation with an emotionally-charged story that will blow you away again.
This screening of this movie is a part of Youth Week 2021 and you must be aged 10 - 25 to attend.

Cloudy With a Chance of Music is the City of Albany's Youth Week WA 2021 festival, offering creative workshops, basketball, summer skate sessions, live music, stalls, drumming and lots more.

This event is open to all ages at no cost.

Head down to the Albany Surf Club for a night of free live music by young local artists overlooking Middleton beach.

DJ AKA Murka, BIONIXX and Damo Damage will be providing tunes throughout the night.

This is an alcohol free event.

A delightfully entertaining programme of shorts that will appeal to the kid in everyone (suitable for 5-12 years and families).

This event is running on Sunday 11 April from 2pm at the Albany Town Hall.

Facilitated by Breaksea artist Rachael Colmer, a Southern Edge Arts ensemble have written and rehearsed their own scenes exploring issues relevant to their shared experience, that will be performed in interesting and surprising sites within the Albany Town Hall.

This project is supported by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Lotterywest.

Watch aerial artists showcase their skills on the trapeze, lyra and silks in a performance suitable for the whole family, then get involved in some circus workshops and try your hand at juggling, hooping and plate spinning after the show.
