Summer Events Series Expression of Interest - Food / Beverage Vendor

The City of Albany is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from registered* mobile food & beverage operators to trade at the 2022/2023 Summer Events Series. The Summer Events Series offers quality free events for the community and aims to provide diverse participation opportunities for local performers, community groups, small businesses and the general public.

*Evidence of food registration with the relevant Local Government Authority (LGA).

The City of Albany’s Christmas Festival and Pageant is one of the biggest events in the Great Southern region attracting up to 10,000 community members to the Albany CBD in the first weekend of December each year. The event brings together all members of the community in collective celebration for the end of school semester and the start of the holiday season.

Albany’s CBD will come alive with a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment. Live music and family orientated activities in the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens that centres around the traditional Christmas pageant on the main street of Albany.

Anzac Peace Park

Albany’s  New Year's Event Celebration attracts local, regional and international visitors of all ages and cultures to Anzac Peace Park. Families and friends join together to share the passing of one year and the welcoming of another.

The New Year’s Eve event will have a full program of live music, games and roving entertainment for the whole community to enjoy. Families and friends will be encouraged to come down, spread a picnic blanket out, listen to some music and grab a bite to eat in the lead-up to the City's traditional fireworks display at 9pm and midnight.

The Binalup Festival is the finale to the City’s Summer Community Events Program and celebrates all the incredible things Albany has to offer. The festival has a jam packed program planned of entertainment, activities, workshops, amusements, market stalls and live music celebrating sustainability and our multicultural and intergenerational community and visitors.

With the key focus of inclusivity the program will include several cultural activities and experiences to celebrate our Menang Noongar heritage and culture. Local community groups and individuals will be engaged to embrace their heritage through performances, art displays and interactive activities.

The Festival provides diverse participation opportunities for the community, including emerging performers, local organisations, businesses and the general public. This inclusion enhances community cohesion and builds a sense of civic pride in Albany.

How to apply

Food vendors can register their interest by completing the following Food / Beverage Vendor Expression of Interest (EOI) Form (only one application is required for the 2022/2023 Summer Events Series).

Please note submission of an expression of interest does not guarantee your business will be selected to trade.

Vendors who have been shortlisted will be contacted a minimum of two months prior to the event date to confirm their interest and availability and in some cases a refundable bond may apply.  

Please note that unsuccessful applicants will not receive notification and should consider the application unsuccessful if they do not receive any further correspondence from the City.

Selection Criteria

Selection of food vendors is at the City of Albany’s discretion. A limited number of sites are available at each event and the City will select applications that offer the best value to attendees and provide the best overall fit for the event.

In reviewing applications the City will consider the following:

Food Menu

  • Professionally presented food offerings.
  • Diverse menu that can service diverse customer groups with offerings at various price points.
  • Offering healthy food and drink options (including gluten free and vegetarian foods).
  • Using local fresh, seasonal and high-quality produce.


  • High quality presentation of the food truck/stall including clean equipment, clear signage and menus.
  • Professional staff standards (neat hair, appropriate clothing and footwear).
  • Space and power requirements (in relation to the event site).

Sustainability Practices

  • Using alternative packaging to plastic, polystyrene and styrofoam for the service of food and beverages, including bio-degradable cutlery, utensils and serving containers.
  • Appropriate measures in place for the disposal of waste including separation of food waste and recyclables.
