The City of Albany is inviting Expressions of Interest from local film students and youth videographers to participate in the 2022/2023 Summer Events Series. The City is looking for local young videographers who are keen to build their experience, showreel and personal development to apply for the Summer Event Series Videography Internship.There are three events within the series, each requiring b-roll footage to be captured at moments throughout the events. The successful applicant(s) will be required to attend up to all three events and provide the City with raw footage of each as directed by the City’s Communications Team.
In order for your application to be considered it must adhere to the following:• Supply your own equipment needed for the project (camera, audio, tripod, etc.).• Applicants must be between 15 and 21 years of age.• Applicants must live in the Great Southern region.• Applicants must provide all raw footage captured at each event to the City of Albany.• Applicants must be able to attend the events at the nominated times:o Christmas Pageant | 5:30pm – 7:30pmo New Year’s Eve | 6pm – 9:30pm o Binalup Festival | 12pm – 3pm• Footage must be captured in HD and provided in a MP4 format.• Footage must be provided to the City within 4 weeks of the event date.
Each event will attract a $75 per hour remuneration, paid after each event.o Christmas Pageant | 5:30pm – 7:30pm | $150o New Year’s Eve | 6pm – 9:30pm | $262.50o Binalup Festival | 12pm – 3pm | $225
CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL AND PAGEANT Saturday, 3 December 2022 | 3pm – 8pmTown Square, Alison Hartman Gardens & York Street The City of Albany’s Christmas Festival and Pageant is one of the biggest events in the Great Southern region attracting up to 10,000 community members to the Albany CBD in the first weekend of December each year. The event brings together all members of the community in collective celebration for the end of school semester and the start of the holiday season. Albany’s CBD will come alive with a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment, live music and family orientated activities in the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens that centres around the traditional Christmas Pageant on the main street of Albany. NEW YEAR'S EVE CELEBRATIONS Saturday, 31 December 2022 | 5pm - MidnightAnzac Peace ParkAlbany’s New Year's Event celebration attracts local, regional and international visitors of all ages and cultures to Anzac Peace Park. Families and friends join together to share the passing of one year and the welcoming of another. The New Year’s Eve event will have a full program of live music, interactive games and roving entertainment for the whole community to enjoy. Families and friends will be encouraged to come down, spread a picnic blanket out, listen to some music and grab a bite to eat in the lead-up to the City's traditional fireworks display at 9pm and midnight.BINALUP FESTIVAL Thursday, 26 January 2022 | 11am – 5pmBinalup / Middleton BeachThe Binalup Festival is the finale to the City’s Summer Community Events Program and celebrates all the incredible things Australia, and in particular what Albany has to offer. The festival has a jam packed program planned of entertainment, activities, workshops, amusements, market stalls and live music celebrating sustainability and our multicultural and intergenerational community and visitors. With the key focus of inclusivity the program will include several cultural activities and experiences to celebrate our Menang Noongar heritage and culture. Local community groups and individuals will be engaged to embrace their heritage through performances, art displays and interactive activities.
Videographers can register their interest by completing the following Expression of Interest Form.Please note submission of an expression of interest does not guarantee you will be selected. Applicants who have been shortlisted will be contacted by 25 November 2022 to confirm their interest and availability. Please note that unsuccessful applicants will also be notified.
