City of Albany are once again throwing their support behind regional and community events that encourage community togetherness, diversity and economic development with local grant funding.
The Regional Events Sponsorship and Community Event Grants are now open for community groups and major regional events that require financial assistance.
Regional Events Sponsorship grants of up to $20,000 will be available to major regional events that deliver economic benefit for the region, increased tourism and add to the attraction of Albany.
The City is also offering Community Event Grants of up to $5,000 to support community events that will deliver diversity, engagement, sustainability and social connectedness.
City of Albany Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said the grants support events that have a positive impact on community.
“These grants are incredibly important for our community’s sense of belonging, togetherness and pride,” Mr Watson said.
“They also support local businesses, economic development and Albany’s tourism footprint within the state as a go to destination in Western Australia. “Events like the ones that these grants support are considered a luxury in many parts of the world at the moment, and we are fortunate to be able to hold them in our own backyard.”
Both event grant rounds are open until 30 July 2021 for events held between 1 September 2021 and 30 June 2022.
