City to put customer first with revised charter

Published on Wednesday, 31 July 2019 at 10:58:45 AM

Community members can help review the City of Albany’s revised Customer Service Charter by attending a community panel discussion next month.

The City put together a working group to review and update its customer service policy and procedures to ensure it is putting the community and customers first.

Council has endorsed the revised charter for public comment and City of Albany Community Services Executive Director Susan Kay said the community’s input was an important part of the review.

“We want to improve our service level standards and systems and what better way to achieve that than by asking our customers what they think and getting their feedback on the charter that will guide us in achieving that,” she said.

“During the review we have made substantial improvements to support our customers and staff, with a new suite of standards and policy.

“We have come a long way with our continued focus on serving the community and we’d love to hear from you at the community panel discussion or through a submission during the public comment period.”

The Public Comment period is open from August 1 to August 18 and residents are encouraged to view the documents and provide their comments.

The Customer Service Charter Community Roundtable Panel will meet at Albany Public Library on Friday, August 16 from 6pm to 7pm.

Written submissions are welcome and can be mailed to the Chief Executive Officer, PO Box 484, Albany, WA 6331 or by email to [email protected]
