Albany residents and visitors are invited to join together and say farewell to 2019 at the City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks presented by LiveLighter.

Anzac Peace Park will be home to free live music featuring local youth and emerging artists, food vendors, lawn games and more in the lead up to the Family Fireworks display at 9pm.

Live music will continue at the Anzac Peace Park until the second round of fireworks at midnight, providing a safe atmosphere for those ready to stay up and see in the new decade.

City of Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington encouraged all residents to rally their friends and family, pack a picnic blanket, and enjoy the festivities on 31 December.

“The New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks is always a safe, fun, family friendly event,” Mayor Wellington said.
“It’s been a huge year for Albany and I’m looking forward to bringing in the new decade and with the community.”

Healthway CEO Susan Hunt PSM said the City of Albany’s New Year celebrations were a great place to promote the LiveLighter health message.

“Community events are a good opportunity to share messages with families about how to stay active and make healthy food choices, which are key to our overall health and wellbeing,” Ms Hunt said.

The City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks presented by LiveLighter is proudly supported by Healthway, Lotterywest, Southern Ports Authority, Albany Advertiser and Triple M.
