Albany Classic 2023 Road Closure Notice

DOWNLOAD ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE

Since 1991, every WA Day June long weekend, the Vintage Sports Car Club of WA and Albany Classic Motorsports Club (formerly the Albany Organising Committee), with assistance from the City of Albany have presented the Albany Classic Motor Event around the streets of Albany and the Mt Clarence Hill Climb. The events are a commemoration of  the “Around-the-Houses” motor racing events which began in Albany in 1936.

On Sunday as well as car racing, there will be stalls in Alison Hartman Gardens and entertainment for the whole family with displays of vintage and classic cars on York Street.


The following road closures will be in place:


FRIDAY (19/5/23) 6:00am – 8:00am
Upper York Street (opposite Alison Hartman Gardens) and Peels Pace (opposite Cosi’s Cafe) to place the pedestrian overpass bridges.


SATURDAY (3/6/23) 6:00am – 6:00pm
Apex Drive, Mt Clarence to conduct the Mt Clarence Hillclimb event. Racing will commence at 8:30am and finish at approximately 3:00pm.

SATURDAY (3/6/23) 10:00pm TO SUNDAY (4/6/23) 10:00pm

  • Serpentine Road & Serpentine Road East (from Elizabeth Street to Spencer Street)
  • Aberdeen Street (from St EmilieWay to Peels Place)
  • Duke Street (from Cuthbert Street to Collie Street)
  • Peels Place
  • Frederick Street (from Aberdeen Street to Spencer Street)
  • Collie Street (from Serpentine Road to Stirling Terrace)
  • York Street (from top roundabout to Stirling Terrace)
  • Grey Street West (from Parade Street to York Street)
  • Grey Street East (from York Street to Spencer Street)
  • Earl Street (from Aberdeen Street to Spencer Street)
  • Vancouver Street (from Parade Street to Collie Street)
  • Hotchin Avenue (from Parade Street to Collie Street)
  • Hanney Place.


Racing will commence at 8.30am and finish at approximately 4:30pm.


TUESDAY (6/6/23) 6:00am – 10:00am
Upper York Street (opposite Alison Hartman Gardens) and Peels Pace (opposite Cosi’s Cafe) to remove the pedestrian overpass bridges.
