Event Background
This is the first time Albany is hosting the National Caravan Rally, which brings visitors from across Australia.

With around 450 caravans calling Centennial Park home for 10 days, the City will be bustling with tourists looking to shop, wine and dine, and explore Albany and ‘The Amazing South Coast”.

In 2015, the City of Albany hosted the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia National Rally with over 800 participants.

As a result of that success, the City was able to attract the Coromal Windsor 17th National Caravan Rally to Albany, which will be the rally’s first visit to WA in 17 years.

Bringing events like these to Albany is one of the objectives of the City of Albany’s Community Strategic Plan, by promoting our region and creating positive economic and social benefits.

The City invites the community to join us in welcoming the rally-goers to Albany so they enjoy their stay and leave with fond memories and plans to return.

Practice Patience
In the days leading up to the rally you may notice an increase in the number of caravans in the region. This may result in traffic disruption and delays. Please be patient and understanding during this time.

Between Sunday, 13th October and Monday, 14th October, 450 caravans will make their way into Centennial Park.  Please expect long queues of caravans along North Road and parts of Lockyer Avenue on these days.

This will also be the case as the caravans leave Albany on 22nd October.

A small number of caravans are planned to be on-site from 2nd October to 30th October to set-up and pack-away the event.

During the Rally
The Coromal Windsor 17th National Caravan Rally is run by the National Caravan Club of Australia. It is not a City of Albany event, but the City is a sponsor.

The City of Albany is providing the venue and other support services whilst the rally is here, including sessions at the Albany Public Library, access at the National Anzac Centre, Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre and tourism offers at the Visitors Centre for rally visitors.

The lighting in the eastern precinct of Centennial Park will be on security mode from 6pm to 11pm each night during the event, however this is subject to change in the event of an emergency.

There will also be a number of generators on-site to help provide power to the event participants. The City is working with the event organisers to ensure any noise from the generators is mitigated as much as possible.

Public Events
The Coromal Windsor 17th National Caravan Rally is for members only and there will be no public access to the Centennial Park grounds during the event.

However, there is a trade show at Centennial Park in one of the agricultural show pavilions, which is open to the public on the following days and times:

  • Friday, 18th October | 9am – 5pm
  • Saturday, 19th October | 9am – 4pM
