Cancellation of April Development and Infrastructure Services Committee Meeting 2024

The City of Albany is continuing its efforts to control wild foxes and feral rabbits through various methods over the next two months, including the use of traps and the release of the Calicivirus.

The City of Albany’s Annual General Meeting of Electors will be held in the City of Albany Council Chambers, 102 North Road Yakamia WA 6330, on Wednesday, 20 March 2024 commencing at 6.30pm.

The City of Albany advises that works will begin next week at Emu Beach near the corner of Firth Street and Boongarrie Street. The purpose of the work is to remove the geotextile sand container (GSC) revetment in advance of upcoming sand nourishment works to improve beach amenity and resilience to storm events.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from First Nations cultural dancers, performers and musicians to enrich the City of Albany’s 2024 Australian Citizenship Ceremony program. The selected individuals/groups will be engaged to perform at three Citizenship Ceremonies held at the Albany Town Hall on 20 April, 30 July and 29 October 2024, providing memorable cultural experiences for new citizens and their families.

Please be advised that works are to begin on Stage 1 of the Regional Tennis Centre, with the construction of 6 courts.

Construction has commenced on the redevelopment of the Albany Surf Life Saving Club and the Public Amenities refurbishment. There will be some carpark closures and pedestrian detours. Access to the Surf Club and the Public Toilets is strictly prohibited during construction. Contractors will endeavor to keep disruptions to a minimum and would appreciate your co-operation with working on sit staff.

As part of the City of Albany’s 2023/2024 capital works program, the Range Road roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of North Road and Sanford Road.

The Lotteries House Management Committee has one office space available for lease at Albany Lotteries House on North Road for a period of up to 3 years.

The City of Albany proposes to lease a portion of area at Hanrahan Road Waste Facility to LMS Energy Pty Ltd for a consideration of $10.00 ex GST per annum. This lease supports a project to implement landfill biogas capture and abatement to manage environmental compliance at the site.

The City of Albany proposes to lease Airport hangar site 7 on portion of 35615 Albany Highway, Drome to Randall Wiggins for a consideration of $1,800 plus GST per annum.
