The Restricted Burning Period for the North East Sector of the City of Albany has been extended up to and including 15 May 2024.
The City of Albany is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from musicians, entertainers and small business to participate in the 2023/2024 City of Albany Summer Events Series. The Summer Events Series offers quality free events for the community and aims to provide diverse participation opportunities for local performers, community groups, small businesses and the general public.
Saturday, 2 December 2023 | 3pm – 8pmTown Square, Alison Hartman Gardens & York Street The City of Albany’s Christmas Festival & Pageant is one of the biggest events in the Great Southern region, attracting up to 10,000 community members to the Albany CBD in the first weekend of December each year. The event brings together all members of the community in collective celebration of the start of the holiday season. Albany’s CBD will come alive with a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment, live music and family-orientated activities in the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens centering around the traditional Christmas pageant on the main street of Albany.
Sunday, 31 December 2023 | 5pm - MidnightAnzac Peace ParkAlbany’s New Year's Eve celebration attracts local, regional and international visitors of all ages and cultures to Anzac Peace Park. Families and friends join together to share the passing of one year and the welcoming of another. The New Year’s Eve event will have a full program of live music, interactive games and roving entertainment for the whole community to enjoy. Families and friends will be encouraged to come down, spread a picnic blanket out, listen to some music and grab a bite to eat in the lead-up to the City's traditional fireworks display at 9pm and midnight.
Friday, 26 January 2024Binalup / Middleton BeachThe Binalup Festival is the finale to the City’s Summer Events Series and celebrates all the incredible things Albany has to offer. The festival has a jam-packed program planned of entertainment, activities, workshops, amusements, market stalls and live music celebrating sustainability and our multicultural and intergenerational community and visitors. With the key focus of inclusivity the program will include several cultural activities and experiences to celebrate our Menang Noongar heritage and culture. Local community groups and individuals will be engaged to embrace their heritage through performances, art displays and interactive activities.
Musicians, entertainers and small businesses can register their interest by completing the following Music / Entertainment Expression of Interest Form (only one application is required for the 2023/2024 Summer Events Series).Please note submitting this Expression of Interest Form does not automatically result in acceptance to perform / provide services at the Summer Events Series.Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application via email by Monday 16 October 2023. Selection of applicants is at the City of Albany’s discretion.
