Albany residents and visitors are invited to say goodbye to a tumultuous 2020 and ring in 2021 at the City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Picnic and Fireworks, presented by LiveLighter this month.
Anzac Peace Park will come alive with free live music featuring local youth and emerging artists, food vendors, and a variety of entertainment for all ages in the lead up to the fireworks display at 9pm.
The family-friendly event will feature henna tattooing, colourful face painting, 9-hole wacky golf, show bags and more to make the night one to remember.
City of Albany Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said he was looking forward to seeing the celebrations go ahead in a Covid-safe environment.
“We are incredibly lucky to be able to put on such a wonderful event for everyone while still respecting Covid-safe guidelines to keep our community protected,” he said.
“Given we are seeing other communities cancelling their fireworks shows, we are really pleased that we still have a show for our community to enjoy.
“Everybody has a role to play in making sure this event is safe and enjoyable for all, by keeping their distance and maintaining hygiene at the various hand sanitising stations across the event.”
The City of Albany asks for attendees to download and use the Covid-Safe and SafeWA app to scan the event QR code which will be available at the event site.
