Community Engagement

Council Meet & Greet Forums

Meet & Greet Forums provide opportunities for residents to meet informally with Councillors, in a less formal environment than attending a Council Meeting.

A number of these forums are held a year, and target different population groups.

In the meantime if you have any questions about Council Meet and Greet Forums, or community engagement more generally, please contact the Community Development Team on 6820 3023.

Communications & Engagement Advisory Group

As part of the new approach to improving the way the City communicates and engages with communities, the Communications and Engagement Advisory group guides the City's action plan and reporting. The group meets each quarter to provide high-level advice and recommendations. The group membership includes community representatives, City of Albany staff, and Elected Members.

For more information contact City of Albany on: 6820 3023.

2021 Albany Community MARKYT® Survey Results

The City of Albany conducts a MARKYT® Survey every 2 years to get feedback on how the community feel the City is performing against commitments made in their Integrated Planning and Reporting (IPR) Framework. This Survey is conducted in partnership with the other 10 Great Southern Local Governments.

A community scorecard survey was undertaken in March 2021. This survey asked a sample of residents to rate local services and facilities as the first step in the engagement process with the community.

The community identified priorities that included climate change, youth services, footpaths, cycleways, economic development, job creation and safety.

The highest scoring areas were place to live, place to visit, tourism attractions and marketing, recognition and respect for Aboriginal cultures and heritage, public health and wellbeing programs, education, community buildings, library services and public toilets.
