Heywire Storytelling Workshop with Katie McAllister

Past Event

Do you have a story to tell? The ABC’s Heywire competition is calling for stories from young people aged 16-22, living in regional Australia.
It’s a chance to show the rest of Australia what life is like in your neck of the woods and to be in the centre of conversations that shape your communities.
Katie McAllister is a successful young writer, journalist, radio host and former Heywire winner who grew up in Albany.
Katie will guide you through the process of telling their own unique story and support young local Albany people enter Heywire 2021.
This event starts at 4pm but you can arrive as late as 5pm and still participate.
It will be held upstairs at the Albany Public Library. Please note that the Library door closes at 5pm so you will need to arrive by 5pm to participate.
Light refreshments will be served.
Heywire winners will get to work with ABC producers to share their story on the ABC and an all-expenses-paid trip to the Heywire Regional Youth Summit in Canberra.
