Community Development Funding 

Applications are now open for the next round of Community Development Funding will open Wednesday 1 March 2023 and close Friday 12 May 2023. 

 This funding program offers grants between $1,000 and $5,000 to support community-based projects and activities delivered between 1 August 2023 and 30 June 2024. The focus of the program is to support community-driven initiatives that address the eligibility criteria. 

Projects must fit one of the three streams of funding: 

  • Vibrant inclusive and connected neighbourhoods
  • Strong thriving community groups
  • Supporting the vulnerable

The City of Albany is holding two grant-writing workshops to help those groups interested in applying. For information on these workshops, please contact the Community Development Team on 6820 3023. 

Please ensure you have read the guidelines and discussed your project with the Community Development Team before submitting an application.

Community Sustainability Grants 

Community Sustainability Grants are now open for application. These grants provide support for local sustainability projects that benefit our community. Applications for up to $2500 are invited for eligible activities with applications remaining open until the scheme is fully subscribed. Proposed activities must be discussed with the Sustainability Team before submitting an application. Community Leadership Grants

The Community Leadership Grants are now open for applications. To find out whether you are eligible to apply for these grants, please contact the Club Development Coordinator, Judith Want on (08) 6820 3451 or by email – [email protected].

Community Quick Response Grants

Quick Response Grants are for small grants of up to $1,000 for proposals that fall outside the City’s annual Community Funding Program. Applications can be made at any time, and applicants will be advised if they are successful within two weeks of their application being submitted. 

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until the allocation is exhausted.

This program will support small-scale initiatives that take place from 1 August 2022 to 30 June 2023.

Letters of Support

Are you applying for funding and need a letter of support for your application?

The City of Albany receives hundreds of requests for letters of support from community groups each year. While most requests will be accommodated in the timeframe required, applicants are reminded that the City does require requests to be made in accordance with its policy and in the correct format.

Please allow 10 working days for your application to be processed. Requests must also be submitted using one of our application forms. If you are applying for funding, please consider requesting letters of support early to ensure your application can be accommodated prior to the closing date for funding submissions.

If you are requesting in-kind support for your project, please discuss with the most relevant officer before applying.
