Maritime Festival to miss Shanty Men

Published on Friday, 2 July 2021 at 4:53:37 PM

The City is very disappointed that the organisers of the Albany International Folk N Shanty Festival have decided to cancel their involvement in the Maritime Festival.

The City remains committed to delivering the Maritime Festival in collaboration with other stakeholders, and in line with the current State Health advice.
The Maritime Festival will proceed with all required COVID safety measures in place.

Events programed for the Boat Shed, Stirling Terrace, Museum of the Great Southern and the Whaling Station will be proceeding as planned.

The City welcomes contact from any musicians who were planning on performing as part of the Folk N Shanty Festival and encourages them to contact the City should they still wish to perform.

The City will endeavour to reprogram their acts as part of the Maritime Festival.

All further enquiries regarding the cancellation of the Albany International Folk N Shanty Festival should be directed to the Shanty Festival committee.
