Great Southern Volunteer Conference

Published on Monday, 13 June 2022 at 9:34:25 AM

Sporting clubs, community groups and volunteer organisations are invited to the Great Southern Volunteer Conference hosted by the City of Albany, Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and Albany & Regional Volunteer Service.

The conference aims to upskill Albany’s local volunteers to ensure they have the knowledge to help their organisations thrive.

A number of topics will be featured throughout the day including grant writing, event management, inclusivity, member retention, marketing, mental health support and planning for the future.

Community Development Coordinator Tammy Flett said the conference is a fantastic opportunity for local club volunteers to develop.

“Volunteers are the core of many community groups and organisations,” she said.

“The conference is a brilliant opportunity to increase the capacity of community groups and clubs, with so many topics covered all in the one place and so much knowledge available for attendees.

“No matter an individual’s current knowledge base, experience or ability; everyone will have learned something new by the end of the conference.”

The Great Southern Volunteer Conference will be held on 25 June at the City of Albany Civic Rooms, North Road Administration Building.

A valuable networking opportunity will take place following the conference with refreshments and canapes for attendees.

Tickets for the conference are $55 per person or $27.50 to attend online via a virtual ticket.
