Call for Expressions of Interest: First Nations Cultural Dancers and Performers for Australian Citizenship Ceremonies

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from First Nations cultural dancers, performers and musicians to enrich the City of Albany’s 2024 Australian Citizenship Ceremony program. The selected individuals/groups will be engaged to perform at three Citizenship Ceremonies held at the Albany Town Hall on 20 April, 30 July and 29 October 2024, providing memorable cultural experiences for new citizens and their families. The City is seeking the following for the ceremony:

1. First Nations dancers, performers or band to provide a 10-minute performance celebrating First Nations culture, and;
2. Solo musician to perform Australian National Anthem and I am Australian.

Expressions of Interest Requirements:

1. Quote: Please provide a quote for performance at each of the three ceremonies.
2. Short Bio: Include a brief biography introducing your group or yourself, highlighting relevant performances supporting your submission.
3. Recording of Performance: Please provide a link to a recording of your performance that showcases your talent and style. This can be in the form of either a video or audio recording.
4. Technical Requirements: Outline any specific technical requirements or considerations for your performance. This may include audio equipment, space requirements, and other relevant details.

Submission Deadline: 5pm, Friday 22 March 2024.

Selection Process: Expressions of Interest will be reviewed by the Mayor and Senior City staff. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for further discussion or performance auditions. Candidates will be notified of the success of their submission by Friday 5 April.

Important Notes:

• Performers must be available for ALL three ceremonies on 3:30pm Tuesday 20 April; 3:30pm Tuesday 30 July; 3:30pm Tuesday 29 October 2024.
• Performances must align with the respectful and inclusive spirit of Australian Citizenship Ceremonies.
