Health & Wellbeing Plan

The City of Albany is developing a Health and Wellbeing Plan for our local community, in line with the WA Public Health Act 2016.

To ensure the best possible health, well-being and quality of life for all residents, now and into the future, the City’s plan must align with the Western Australian Public Health Plan, which aims to promote, prevent, protect and enable public health, with the overarching principles of Aboriginal health and well-being; and equity and inclusion.

While State Government agencies are primarily responsible for the health and well-being of community members, local governments can also improve health and well-being through the range of services they provide.

This is your opportunity to help us set priorities to improve health and well-being for everyone. Your feedback will help the City to identify and prioritise actions that have the greatest positive impact on our community.

The priority risk areas identified through the City’s Health and Wellbeing Profile and feedback from stakeholders include:

  • Physical inactivity
  • Injury
  • Diet
  • Smoking
  • Mental health (includes social isolation and loneliness)
  • Alcohol and other drugs
  • Environmental health, safety and quality
  • Equitable access to socio-economic resources
  • Access to affordable healthcare
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Vaccine-preventable diseases
  • Health literacy

Feedback can be provided by completing our short survey. Your time and feedback is valued and appreciated by the City of Albany. By completing the survey, you have the option of going into the draw to win 1 of 3x $100 supermarket Gift Cards.
