The City of Albany has received $150,000 through the Australian Government’s Revive Live program to deliver an expanded series of original live music events at Albany Town Hall in 2026.

Approved by Minister for the Arts Tony Burke MP, the funding will support Live @ the Town Hall 2026, a program of five concerts showcasing original Australian artists, emerging talent, and diverse line-ups.

While featuring some high-profile headline acts, the program will also prioritise Great Southern musicians, early-career artists and under-represented genres, and include an all-ages concert delivered in partnership with the City’s Youth Services team.

Executive Director Community Services Nathan Watson said the funding will strengthen the region’s growing contemporary music scene.

“Albany Town Hall has quickly become a vibrant hub for original live music, and this support from the Commonwealth means we can build on that momentum,” he said.

“It gives local artists more opportunities to perform on a professional stage, brings national acts to our region, and offers our community more chances to experience live music close to home.”

Manager Arts & Culture Paul Nielsen said the program’s growth reflects strong local demand.

“Our 2025 concerts drew large and diverse audiences, with several shows selling out,” he said.

“This funding allows us to continue presenting high-quality contemporary music in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for audiences of all ages.”

The 2026 program will also expand community engagement activities, including youth videography training, artist development workshops, and a photography competition and exhibition.
