The City of Albany is calling for applications from artists, collectives, and organisations to exhibit at Albany Town Hall and the Vancouver Arts Centre in 2027.

The City’s Arts and Culture Team is seeking proposals for a multi-artform program that will challenge, excite, inspire, and engage both the local community and visitors to the region.

Through its exhibition program, the City aims to promote and reflect Albany’s community identity, cultural diversity, and heritage whilst fostering inclusivity, social cohesion, innovation, experimentation, and imagination.

The program also seeks to strengthen a sustainable local creative economy, promote excellence and contemporary artistic practice, and reflect on national and global issues through art.

Manager Arts and Culture Paul Nielsen said the City aims to support and promote professional and aspiring Great Southern artists, artisans, designers, makers and performers.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing a bold, diverse, and thought-provoking program that reflects the creativity and spirit of our region”, Mr Nielsen said.

“Albany Town Hall and Vancouver Arts Centre are beautiful, sought after venues that are rich in heritage and history which make them stunning venues for visual art of all disciplines.”

Artists selected to exhibit will receive a fee, as well as in-kind support for installation, marketing, and opening events.

Albany Town Hall and Vancouver Arts Centre offer humidity and temperature-controlled gallery environments, ensuring the highest professional standards.

Categories for Albany Town Hall include Open Callout, Community Groups/Collectives/Organisations, Great Southern Solo Artists, and First Nations.

Categories for Vancouver Arts Centre include Emerging/First Solo, Great Southern Artists, and Schools.

Applications close Friday, 5 December 2025.
