Community Assistance Program

Albany has a number of agencies that can provide services and support for anyone requiring assistance:

Anglicare Albany
- provides a number of services including: financial counselling, homelessness support, relationship counselling, children's contact services, family and domestic violence counselling.

Albany Women's Centre
- offers women, with or without children, affected by family and domestic violence a safe refuge and support services.

Albany Youth Support Association
- provides a number of services to young people including: Young House (Youth Refuge), Reconnect (early intervention program to prevent homelessness), SHOT (Supported Housing Outreach and Tenancy), Open Access (Youth Art Studio) and Youth Outreach Program (youth workers to support young people experiencing crisis.

Carers Services Directory
- an online, searchable directory of services which will allow West Australian carers to easily access information on the services and support available to them.

Community Living Association
- provides support for people with disability and their families and carers.

Disability Services Commission (Albany Local Area Coordination)
- provides support for people with disability and their families and carers.

Foodbank Albany- does not provide direct aid, but rather works in cooperation with a network of community based non-profit partner organisations that serve individuals and families in need. Contact Albany Foodbank on 9842 6645 who can refer you to a local agency that can assist you with accessing their services.

headspace Albany
- supports young people aged 12 - 25 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns and/or substance use issues, and their family and friends.

Meals on wheels
- delivers meals to the homes of frail older people and younger people with disabilities.

My Aged Care
- established by the Australian Government to help seniors and their families and carers navigate the aged care system.

Narcotics Anonymous
- is a self-help group for addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean.

Palmerston
- provides support and services to those whose lives are affected by drugs and alcohol.

Rainbow Coast Neighbourhood Centre
- provides a range of services for families and carers of children 0-5 years and individuals, and coordinate the Albany Community Garden.

Salvation Army
- community relief services, as well as a number of programs.

Shalom House
- provides shelter based crisis accommodation for men aged 18+ for men experiencing homelessness, or at risk of experiencing homelessness; drop in space, and community garden.

Southern Aboriginal Corporation
- provides a range of services to indigenous families including: employment, family violence prevention legal services, community and health services and housing support.
