World Elder Abuse Awareness Day | Event Calendar

Friday 13th June 2025
(Multiple Dates Between Friday 13th June 2025 & Friday 27th June 2025)

The City of Albany is marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15 with a series of free community events aimed at raising awareness, fostering inclusion, and helping senior residents stay safe and connected.

Supported by a grant from the Department of Communities, the City will host a range of activities throughout June, including group fitness, yoga and dance classes, a morning tea and presentation on elder abuse, an introduction to lawn bowls, and a special edition of the Digital Drop-In.

This year’s campaign theme, Wise Up, Rise Up against Elder Abuse, calls on all Western Australians to learn how to recognise and respond to elder abuse, and to stand together in support of older people in our communities.

All activities are free and open to senior in Albany and the Great Southern area.
