Float registrations for the 2019 Christmas Festival and Pageant are now open!
This year’s Festival will begin on Friday, December 6 with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, twilight markets and family movie in Alison Hartman Gardens.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, December 7 with activities in Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens from 3pm, with the Pageant starting at 6pm on York Street.
Last year’s parade attracted more than 45 floats, and City of Albany Executive Director Community Services Susan Kay said she would love to see even more this year.
“Each year the Christmas Festival and Pageant gets bigger and better, it’s one of Albany’s favourite events and always draws thousands of spectators to the CBD,” Mrs Kay said.
“It’s fantastic to see so many community groups and local businesses come together to celebrate the season with such an incredible display.”
Festival entertainment will include Santa and his elves, giant inflatable snow globe fun, face painting, live music performances, Virtual Reality ‘Winterland’ experience and a lot more!
