Car charging at Albany Public LIbrary Car Park

Electric car owners visiting Albany now have the convenience of a brand new charging station at Albany Public Library as part of the Tesla Destination Charging network.

Located in the Albany CBD, the Tesla Wall Connectors help electric vehicle drivers seamlessly charge their vehicles whilst they pop into the library, browse the visitor centre, enjoy a coffee or stop for a bite to eat.

Mayor of Albany Dennis Wellington said the Telsa Wall Connector at the library adds Albany to a global community of over 11,000 Tesla charging locations and 21,300 chargers.

“Being a sustainable city is a key focus of the City of Albany and initiatives like this are assisting in reducing our carbon footprint,” he said.

“Being sustainable isn’t just about recycling, it means taking the necessary steps to ensure we are reducing our negative impact on the environment in a whole range of ways.

“Getting smarter about what the City does in this space means our community will be prosperous and the region will continue to grow.”

Mayor Wellington said supporting the growth of electric vehicles was also an important step in the City’s road map towards becoming 100% energy self-sufficient and embracing clean and green power options.

The Tesla Wall Connector at the Albany Public Library is now open for use and located in the library car park.
