Live @ the Town Hall returns with national indie callout

The City of Albany is calling for expressions of interest from original music acts across Australia to perform at the third Live @ the Town Hall concert of 2025, taking place on Saturday, August 23.

Since launching in June 2022, Live @ the Town Hall has become a highlight of Albany’s live music calendar, building a reputation for high-quality original music events and showcasing a diverse mix of emerging and established artists.

The August edition will feature a national focus on indie talent, expanding the callout beyond Western Australia for the first time.

Local acts will remain a cornerstone of the program, with the event continuing to provide a vital platform for regional artists to perform alongside rising stars from across the country.

City of Albany Arts and Culture Manager Paul Nielsen said expanding to a national callout was the next step for the growing event.

“Our March concert featured a phenomenal all-WA lineup—South Summit, smol fish, Ricky Neil Jr, Scream Mountain and sleepy soph—and drew a capacity crowd to the Town Hall,” he said.

“It was the first show with our new sound and lighting rig and the response was incredible.

“We received 46 artist applications and overwhelming feedback from both performers and audiences.

“Now we’re building on that momentum to bring something even bigger to Albany this August.”

Australian original acts are invited to apply via cityofalbanyevents.com.

Applications close on Friday, June 20, 2025.
