Twilight markets, a Christmas-themed outdoor movie, giant snow globes and Santa is some of the entertainment ready to roll into the Town Square and Alison Hartman Gardens on December 6 and 7 as part of the Christmas Festival and Pageant proudly sponsored by LiveLighter.

Expanded to two nights, the Christmas Festival and Pageant this year includes a Friday night program that includes lighting of the Christmas Tree next to Albany Public Library, followed by a screening of The Grinch (2018).

Festivities continue at 3pm on Saturday with live music, kids’ activities and entertainment, healthy food vendors and at 6pm the 2019 Christmas Pageant begins, with 45 floats ranging from schools to businesses and community groups.

Green Skills are holding Twilight Markets in the Town Square on Friday and Saturday from 3pm to coincide with the festivities, with a sustainable Christmas theme.

The Grinch will be the movie of choice on Friday night, chosen by popular vote in a poll on the City of Albany’s Facebook page.

City of Albany Mayor Dennis Wellington encouraged everyone in the region to come into the city centre and get into the festive spirit with the whole community.

“The Christmas Festival and Pageant is always a highlight on the calendar and it’s a great way for families to have some fun and celebrate the year that has been and look forward to the Christmas break,” Mayor Wellington said.

The Christmas Festival and Pageant presented by LiveLighter is proudly supported by Healthway, Lotterywest, Albany Advertiser and Triple M.
