gARmenT Gala Showcase
Gala runway event showcasing stunning wearable artworks created by Great Southern artists, designers and makers.
City of Albany’s gARmenT Wearable Art project has engaged over 50 local artists, community group members, students and industry professionals to create unique and original wearable art pieces that will be presented on the runway at this gala showcase event.
Get frocked up in your finest and join us at Albany’s iconic Town Hall to view these amazing wearable artworks modelled on the runway. Models will feature original makeup created to match the garments by students from South Regional TAFE’s Cert III in Beauty Services, and hair by Amanda Winchester from Tony’s Albany.
The event will also feature premiere contemporary dance performance Don’t Waste the Planet, created for gARmenT by Sym Parr and dancers from Albany Contemporary Dance.
Audience numbers are limited so get your tickets early to avoid disappointment!
Doors open 6:00pm - arrive early to have your photo taken on the red carpet, then head upstairs for canapés and a drink before the show starts at 7:00pm (cash/EFTPOS bar available).
Dress: Creative Cocktail – prize for the most creative outfit!
