SHELTER - ARTISTS TALKS – INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY

11AM & 3PM FRIDAY MARCH 8, 2024 AT VANCOUVER ARTS CENTRE

 

SHELTER is a solo exhibition of textile and multimedia installations by Verity Byth, exploring notions and emotions of shelter in a climate-ravaged world. 

 

Textile artist Verity Byth will talk about the work in her solo exhibition that explores women and children’s voices in climate catastrophe. 

 

In each talk Verity will give a tour and talk of the whole exhibition

  • At 11am, she will also talk about the stitching and textile approaches she has used to create both tiny and large scale pieces.
  • At 3pm, she will also focus on the details in the exhibition that explore women’s roles in dealing with climate grief while preparing and responding to climate catastrophe.
