The City of Albany has received a Joint Development Assessment Panel (JDAP) application for a Tourist Development and public comments are invited.

Proposed development
The development application is for a tourist development including lodge, function room, two storey pods, barn retreat, glamping, studio and associated shed.
Background
An amended Local Development Plan (LDP1) was approved for the site at the December 2022 Ordinary Council Meeting (see Appendix O). This LDP was required prior to the lodgement of a development application to guide future development outcomes on the site.
The application will be assessed against LDP1, the City of Albany Local Planning Scheme and relevant State Planning Policies including SPP3.7 Planning in Bushfire Prone Areas, SPP 2.9 Water Resources and SPP 2.6 Coastal Planning.
