WaveX Large Scale Pilot Project: Community Information Session

Wednesday 27th May 2026
(Multiple Dates Between Wednesday 27th May 2026 & Wednesday 27th May 2026)

Join WaveX for a community information session on an exciting new renewable energy project coming to Albany’s King George Sound.

Later this year, WaveX will deploy a large-scale pilot wave energy convertor in King George Sound. The project is supported by a federal Cooperative Research Centres Project Grant, which includes UWA and NGI as project partners. This innovative project will showcase industrial-scale wave-powered generator technology designed to complement wind and solar and support a more reliable, fully decarbonised energy system.

At this session, you’ll learn how wave energy works, what to expect from the pilot project, and how WaveX is working to unlock the vast renewable potential of the ocean. There’ll also be an opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the project team.

WaveX is a Western Australian company on a mission to help reduce global carbon emissions by 1% by 2050. Come along to find out how this local project contributes to a cleaner energy future. Learn more: www.wavex.earth
